Better Balance in the New Year

January 1, 2021

If there was one thing that 2020 taught me, it was that long-term planning can sometimes be futile. In a year that forced us to plan week to week, or sometimes just day to day, the planner in me was really challenged to focus on short term goals and small wins. In hindsight, it turned out to be a lesson I am glad that I learned.

So for 2021, I didn’t buy a pretty annual planner, and I didn’t even print off all 12 months in a printable online calendar. What I did decide to do, was continue with a practice I started in 2020 that actually left me feeling more productive and focused than ever – weekly planning.

I tried out a few weekly planning templates over the last 9 months and pulled together the key elements of each that really worked for me into a simple PDF to share with all of you as a free printable.

Taking things one week at a time, focusing on a central goal, defining the top two things I needed to achieve, and keeping track of all the other to do items, including the self-care categories in my habit tracker, really helped me and I hope it helps you too.

So when you think about your plans for 2021, take a deep breath, and take it one week at a time.

Here’s to a happy, healthy 2021!
